I have a S&W model 637 Airweight 38 Spl, 2 in snub nose revolver. I recently purchased a HKS Model 36-A speed loader for a J frame revolver. The speed loader seems to hang up on the rubber boot grip. What do I do to make this work without butchering my grips?. Or is their another product out their that will do the same thing?. I already have speed strips but want something faster. Thank you for the help.

I bought these Hideout grips from Brownells.
They are hard grips and need to be sanded down to work with speedloaders. Just use a dremel and sandpaper. Finish with 1000/2000 grit for a factory-like appearance.. It's a very easy job and work fine with the HKS's. |
| The newer grips are too wide to use speedloaders. My model 642 came with grips that don't interfere with speedloader function; they are made by Hogue and are 2 part grips. My friend just got a 638 and it's grips were too wide :( He decided to use speed strips rather than replace the grips. |
