Ok here's the deal.Another officer dropped his mid size XD40 in the sand and i mean A LOT of sand. It's caked in there. From what i can see it's a simple 3 pin to remove the trigger housing. I'm a glock guy so this is some what the same. He left it here with me to clean b/c it was so full of shit he couldn't even get the slide back on. His grip safety is stuck inward. I'm guessing from a mix of sand and lube. Now here's my questions. how in the hell do you get the take down lever out? Do i even need it out to remove the locking block over the trigger? do i have to remove the two tiny pins in the rear behind the ejector to get the trigger pack out? I have it soaking right now in some simple green then i'm going to blow it clean with my compressor. Thanks guys.

The takedown lever is engaged with the leg of a spring. There's a groove in the takedown lever shaft.  Rotate the lever clockwise while pulling out and it should pop right out.

There's a very detailed disassembly guide at  www.xd-hs2000.com/disassembly/disassembly.html
