Shooting the XD today, and on ALL my factory mags (all 2 of them), the slide started to persistantly fail to lock to the rear on the last round.. I have a # 22 WOLF spring in my XD, that now has seen upwards of 3000 rounds. Would the recoil spring affect the slide lock? I was planning on buying another spring within the next couple hundred rounds, but if this is the problem, it will be now. I dont have the mags right now, back at home, I'll check the mag follower also. They are plastic, with both having approx 3000 rounds through them. Could they be worn down so much they need replaced? |
| I had a problem with this as well. I would rack the slide on an empty mag and it would not lock back. Turns out, somebody, probably me, had put the mag back together with the follower spring backwards. When I reversed the spring the problem stopped. I'd check this first. Hope that helps. MJD |
