Hey,

I have a .45 on the way that comes with a used 47D(?) magazine.  I would like to buy a new spring for it.  Where can I find a Wilson spring or will any 8 round 1911 mag spring work?

Thanks

Wilson sell kits.  As does Wolff.

Midway USA, Brownells, et al, has them, or you can order direct.

I too recommend the Tripp's rebuild kit.  However, if you call Wilson and have any issues with the magazine spring, they will send you a new one.  At least they did for me.  I still ended up replacing with the Tripp's Super-7 rebuild kit.

If you contact Wilson, they will send an new one for free.

I managed to wear out a few springs in a couple of old 47's..the ones with the metal followers...not only did they send new springs, I got new followers, base plates and base pads...all for free.

They take care of their customers.

why would you want to rebuild it before seeing if it works? if it works leave it alone
