It should be fine to change out the 2-piece guide rod. I have the GI style on both of my guns for the simplicity of takedown. Go for it, it's a great gun.

That's not a bad price.  Or you can just shoot with the two-piece guide rod until the recoil spring needs replacing and then change to GI style then.  If it ain't broke, no need to fix it.  If it is broke, UPGRADE!!!

Nice weapon,if thats the out-the -door price...grab it. I like to run a heavier recoil spring on my light weight. I hate the 2 peice and canned it.

What does the heavier recoil spring do, make feeding more reliable?

I was shooting my LW operator and noticed that it was slower back on target than my other 1911s. I had no idea that being 10oz lighter would have such a noticeable affect. Does the heavier recoil spring make it it a little faster? I'm probably over working my pea sized brain, but I'm thinking maybe if the slide snapped back quicker it would drive the gun back down on target....

That's what I would've thought as well, but I think it actually makes it worse.  The competition guys run as low a recoil spring as they can to help them get back on target faster.  It doesn't make sense conceptually to me either....

The heavier recoil spring generally helps keep frame battering to a minimum and should help ensure more positive feeding.

thats the price basically out the door...add some sales tax, but shipping would be more than tax so i feel its a win,and with availability issues lately i think I have talked myself into it......
