I’ve currently got two 1911s, both Wilson Combat CQBs, a 5” .45 and a compact stainless 9mm. I am really wanting another full size .45 but with a railed frame and optic ready to mount an X300U and RMR. It seems like the most commonly available is the TRP AOS. I’ve never owned or even shot a Springfield. How is the quality on these? I don’t expect a $2000 pistol to be as perfect as a $4000 pistol but I don’t want to hate it either. After playing around with my non-railed Wilson 5” and one of my X300Us, I’m not really wild about how much width the light adds to the frame and slide. Thinking seriously about going with the commander sized version instead with a Surefire XC3. I find them plenty bright for a carry pistol and use them daily on my two primary EDC Glocks 19s. Are the commander sized TRPs as reliable and the 5” guns? |
