Ok I think I'm hearing that the guns have a problem with the extractor is that right? I will try to put about 300 rounds through it and see how it runs. it better run like my Gold Cup or it's outta here. What was the problems that you guys had to send them back to SA? |
|
ok simple form the extractor will last about 500 rounds and loose tension. SA makes the extractors via the MIN process, and the never seen to hold tension.
I would purchase a Spare Extractor a quailty one (read non Sprinfield) and have it adjusted. In the Past I've had great luck with Ed Brown, Colt, EGW, and Wilson, For non Standard I use Aftec (not needed in 45 acp). Get a Spare recoil spring (Wolff, ISMI) 16 to 18.5 and relace it at 1000 rounds and every 3000 to 5000 after that. |

Guess I got screwed! I paid 815 plus tax last Thursday. To top it off, I had to send it back to SA on Friday. It was my first 1911, so hopefully it will be a great pistol. Springfield has great customer service!! $745 is alright, not the best, not the worst. Bottom line: You have an awesome pistol. Now go to the range and tell us how you did!! |

I don't own one, but I'd like to. I was torn between the SS Loaded Champion and the SS Commander. I like that the Champ doesn't have FCS and is a little cheaper, but went with the Colt 'cause it has a bushing.
A Champion is still on my short list, though. The made in Brazil thing doesn't bother me. I love my Milspec. a-bare |

OK range report here. Friday I got my pistol home and the first thing I did was polish the feed ramp. GTG. Sunday I put about 300 round through it and it functioned flawlessly except when I tried to use up some 225 gr lead RN. It would not chamber them at all. I went back to some 230 gr ball and again it functioned great. I then went to some 230 Hornady XTP's that I had loaded and it ran great again. This gun shoots right to point of aim at 25 yds. I love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Bottom l;ine is I am going to pull the lead RN and ditch them.LOL |

Just bought the same gun. Waiting for it to arrive. Whats the deal with the NM prefix? NM is assembled state side and may be finished machined here as well. I know the RO line is finished machined here and fit stateside to trp specs, RO have the NM prefix. |

Mine shot low and left, Springfield replaced the barrel and bushing, lightened up the trigger and now it shoots point of aim and groups great. |
| I bought a parkerized version yesterday with the tritium inserts and I love it. They are expensive around here and VERY hard to find. I have been looking for two months at all the shops in my area. I paid $869 for mine. Not the best price but I actually have one now and it was worth it to me. Some guys have had them on order since December and don't know when their pistols are coming in. OP, you did great. Enjoy your new pistol. |

Quoted: Ok you guys what is your opinion of the Springfield loaded S.S. 1911. got an alright deal....$745. So is this gun any good or did I take it in the you know what. http://i393.photobucket.com/albums/pp17/M1AJAS/1911.jpg Just picked mine up from my FFL. Got it from Bud's for $744 shipped. I'm very happy with it! NM serial # prefix and a tight, will likely need some breaking in, frame to slide mating. I'm really happy I bought it. Already shopping for my next Springer. |
