Ok, so i know springfield 1911s (most of them) use a 9mm/38 super firing pin.  So the size of the end that stricks the primer is smaller, but is the other side of the pin that goes through the firing pin stop also a different diameter then a standard firing pin?

Basically...would a standard firing pin stop work or does springfields firing pin require a firing pin stop with a smaller hole as well?

There is only one firing pin stop hole size.  You will want a Series 70 firing pin stop.
