I was just wondering if anyone else had one of these.  I just don't see them much anymore and was wondering if there are many out there.  What is your experience with yours, I know mine has run perfect out of the box.

I had one that was awesome.  I traded it, since the grip was just a little too big for my hands.  I miss it though.  It always shot reliably with Para mags (the Springfield ones were horrible, and each one I had had different springs inside).  It was also accurate.  I had a Heinie front put in, and I later installed a Novak rear, a McCormick ambi, and an STI trigger.

No.  Look at the pic above, and picture it with GI type sights, a regular trigger, no full length guide rod, and a single sided extended safety.

Do the 14rders stick out below the grip? I have been wanting to go a 1911 and if I can stick 14rds in one that seals the deal.

no the mags are pretty much flush with the bottom of the magwell. I LOVE MINE!!! I have never shot a pistol that was that accurate out of the box and i own sigs smiths colts and others as well. it shoots what ever i put in it. if i had to choose one pistol that own as my favorite it would be my new Hicap.

Local gun store is supposed to be getting one of the new ones for me. Springfield told them (store) that the pistols would be shipping to distributors this Friday (22nd). Hopefully the store should get one not long after that.

$499 is the price they gave me. Not bad, not bad at all. I'm lookin forward to it, big time.

Do you suppose SA will produce this in GAP?
Seems like that would be a good application of the round.

Just got me a Springfield 1991A1 High-Cap, couple days ago (pic in the springfield pic thread), it's the PX9707L. I was looking to get the GI high-cap that just came out, but came across this one NIB at a local gunshop for $505, couldn't pass up that deal.

I shot 150 rounds through it yesterday,  Golden Sabers, CCI Blazer and Wolf.  Ran perfect and just as accurate as my G21, given my G21 has better sights though.

My first 1911 and I love it, it's on my side right now.
