How does this fare with other similarly priced 1911’s for the quality?

Is it worth the money?

Thanks!!

Very nice. Well put together. Great fit and finish. Can't go wrong IMO.

I love my new TRP. No issues whatsoever! Shoots dead on feeds anything feels great i n the hand. My only peeve is the FLGR which I replaced with Ed Brown standard unit.

I have two TRP's and think they are nice pistols.  With that said, I don't know if I'd buy another one unless I were to get a smokin' deal on it.

Both of my pistols needed trigger work out of the box.  One had a poorly fitting magazine funnel and the other had a thumb safety that needed some work.  And the first one I bought shot about 4" low at 25 yards.

Local prices here are usually in the $1,200+ range for a new gun.  I'd bet that for similar money you could get somebody like Virgil Tripp to build you a nicer pistol on a Caspian chassis.

Handled a TRP Operator at the local Gander Mnt. recently. It looked like it was put together really well and it was a decent price too.

I am a small stocking dealer.  I did a transfer for a buddy of mine that found one used out of state (though it appeared unfired).  My Buddy has had Kimbers, HK USP's, Glock's and various other handguns.  He is a pretty good shot, as I have shot with him (though I have not shot with him since he picked up the TRP).  His statement is this, "It is a far better firearm than I can shoot it...for the money spent ($850.00) it is the nices 1911 I have had."

With that said, I am dealing on one now for myself.  I have had many SA's  through the years, but always stock and then shipped em' out to be straightened out.  I can tell you some real duzzie of "comstom gunsmith's" stories!  LOL!

The only malf. my TRP has had was an FTE a little while ago.  I suspect it was 100% the ammo's fault, as it was some hand-loaded semi-wadcutter junk that was about 18 years old.
