I have been looking for a small 9mm that I really liked for a carry gun. I have tried a Diamondback, Taurus 709 Slim, Glock 26, Sig P938 (still have it), Sig P228, Glock 19, Sig P250 sub compact, and now have a M&P Shield. I asked my dealer to get me either the Shield or an XDs, whichever came in first. I really like the shield, but it's trigger pull sucks. ( I know you can put an Apex trigger in it and help that out). It's accuracy also suffers low and to the left. I took it to a shop today to have night sights put on it. They showed me a target of a shield that came in yesterday doing the same thing. Enough of that. I am thinking on an EMP 9mm next. For those of you that have one, how do you like it? Function, Accuracy, Etc.?

Thank You,

Mark

Second tacked post at top of this forum ("Picked one up....") has a pretty lengthy discussion.
Some people had some reliability issues (I am one) many others have found them flawless.  Great overall pistol, but I don't use mine for CCW since reliability issues (appear fixed now) don't give me the "warm fuzzy" feeling of absolute trust I get from my Walther PPS or Sig p229.

Walther PPS is a fantastic gun, surprisingly accurate, extremely reliable.  I am VERY happy with it (and if you read up on it on the Walther section you will see almost universal agreement)

Thanks for the info. The PPS is probably cheaper also. I did look at a tacked thread, and was reading stuff from 2007. I thought there might be some newer opinions. I think I am going to take a pass on the EMT.

Thank You,

Mark

EMP 9mm owner here. I love mine. Crisp trigger, very accurate, just feels good overall. Mine eats just about any ammo. There are reports of some HP ammo having FTF issues with a dirty feed ramp, but I haven't personally experienced those issues. Great gun and my friends always want to shoot it when I bring it to the range.

I've owned three EMP 40's and sold the snot out of the 9's, and I've not heard any negative feedback from my customers.    I do,  however,  read quite often that the pistol may need a trip back to the mothership prior to running 100%, though mine have been great.   Finding leather can be a little difficult as it's smaller than your traditional officers model.    Accuracy is retarded good.

My shield shot low-left..... Until I let someone else shoot it.   I was pulling a glock and yanking it.   I would advise spending more trigger time with thee shield prior to abandoning ship.

Shot an EMP in 9 mm Monday... Going to be my next CCW as soon as I save the cash for it.
