So I've been rolling around the idea of selling my Springfield EMP, but I just can't bring myself to get rid of a 1911... I plan to start building a full-size sometime soon, but I'd like to customize the EMP a little bit... here's what I'm thinking... I like the look of the MC Operator that Springfield has out, so I think I'm going to have the frame refinished in the OD Armory Kote, and the slide refinished, with all the little parts (trigger, safety, etc...) in Armory Kote Black. I'd like a crisper trigger break, and I was considering the golf-ball dimple type checking, but the issue I'm having is finding some grips that I like for the EMP... for those of you that don't know, regular 1911 grips won't fit an EMP, and I haven't found much available for them just yet. I saw Larry Davidson had some out, but I'm not sure how I feel about them yet, though I know he does some custom work, which might be the way I go... Do you guys know of any other grips available for the EMP? Thoughts? |

VZ.
Great grips and they just so happen to offer several styles for the EMP. VZ for the EMP |

decide now if you want to keep it or sell it. once you start refinishing it and checkering it, you will never see that money returned if you sell it. basically just money down the toilet. not everyone likes OD/black color schemes resulting in a potentially harder sell. what made you think about selling? |

I'm interested in an EMP for the wife. She has a g26 now but would like something thinner. {EDITED} - SGB Specific To Sales 2.) Companies or individuals interested in selling or trading equipment should resort to the Equipment Exchange. At no time should an item be listed in any discussion forum. (This includes links to auctions.) |

I bought it for my ex-fiance' a while back and it's never been fired... I traditionally prefer full size 1911's, and I carry full-size 1911's... with it never having been fired, I don't feel like I should have to let it go too ridiculously cheap (I believe I paid just under $1k with taxes) but any offers I've received have just tried to lowball the shit out of me, so I figure if I'm not going to at least get a fair price, I might as well keep it. I have a hard time letting go of 1911's, no matter what they are... Once I decide to keep something, it's not going anywhere, so when I make that final decision, the color scheme and mods won't matter to me because it'll be mine for years and years. Good insight, though. You bring about a valid point. |
