I would like to replace my #23 mainspring with a #19.
I have the ILS housing on a springfield loaded. Can I replace this spring, or do I need a new mainspring housing? |
| I believe you can use the ILS mainspring housing, but its mandatory that you have a conventional mainspring cap pin to replace the one that was used with the ILS. The standard Springfield ILS system has a 28 lb mainspring, so if you currently have a 23 lb spring, it sounds like it's already been changed once. If so, the spring cap pin that's currently installed is probably OK. |
