My little brother turned 18 in January. To celebrate I talked him into buying a .22 rifle, so today I took him shooting. While there I decided to put some more rounds down range with the LW Operator. I picked this gun up in July. Every chance I have, I hit the range with it.
The finish is holding up great and has seen some use in a CTAC holster.
The gun is plenty accurate and could do much better in skilled hands.
So far this gun has been 100% reliable with ball and HP ammo. It has worked with every mag I own, Chip McCormick Shooting Star mags, Wilson's, Mec-Gar, and the stock mags. So boringly reliable it reminds me of my glocks in that department but this gun has a soul.
Trigger breaks at 4 1/2lbs after a good amount of range time and dry fire.
Novaks are nice but I will get around to changing the rear to a wide notch.
With the cost of ammo I haven't changed the grips yet, but slim grips would be nice for carry.
After 3800 rounds downrange I have concluded that this gun was worth every penny, it's my favorite 1911 in my collection. I will let you all know in a few years when I hit the 30-40k mark how well the frame holds up, but with the lifetime guarantee I'm not worried. It's beefed up in all the right places for hard use.
Hope this helps if anyone is on the fence about purchasing a LW Operator. First time I have written a review like this, but I have never been this impressed before.
Now on to the gun porn! Sorry for the quality my camera sucks.

I just went with a buddy to pick his up the other day. It definitely feels nice. I'm anxious to shoot it!

I just bought a LW Champion Operator, yesterday in fact. I shot it today, 300 rounds of CCI Blazer (not my first choice, buy hey....ammo is expensive.) Worth every nickel.

I'm on the fence about the LW and the MC.
How's the fit with a light mounted on the rail?
I'm curious about the brand of light and actual fit.
Thanks.

I have SA Micro Compact, LW Champion and MC operators, and I have to say that the LW Champion operator is my favorite “all-around” pistol. :)
