Do Springfields use smaller firing pins than normal 1911s?  The reason I ask is my used 2003 OD 1911 .45 ACP has a titanium firing pin and I bought a Wilson Bullet Proof firing pin (.45) to have as a spare and it will not fit into the slide.  And comparing the Springfield firing pin to it, the Wilson is conisiderably larger in diameter at the tip.  Is the one in the pistol maybe a 9mm or .38 Super firing pin?

Oddly enough my OD loaded DOES take GI firing pins....I have no idea how I got lucky in that Dept.

It can't just be swapped out for a standard firing pin?

I saw on the Brownells web site they now have Wilson-Combat 'Bullet proof' extractors for 38/9mm too.  They're not in the catalog so they must have just came out with those.
