I've heard some negative things about NM Prefix Loadeds.
MIM parts
2 piece barrel
Glued in ejector

Are any of these real issues? Thanks.

I have an NM prefix and I have a friend with an N prefix.  His barrel is two piece, mine is not.  Yes, they both have MIM and both have a glued ejector.  The rollmarks and finish on mine look better than his N marked one.  Both have been reliable.

Mine has been awesome.

Thanks I figured these concerns would be non issues. I have seen the Park'd Loaded for $790 locally, would this be a good price? Looking for my first 1911.

Not a terrible price, if you're looking at a full sized steel frame without a rail I'd go for a range officer instead. Add sights of your choice and you probably have a better gun. Just something to think about.

Depends on whether or not that's new or used (that's not a bad price for new). If it's your first, used may not be a bad place to start (I snagged a loaded park'd model for $515 on gunbroker not too far back). Springfield's warranty makes buying a used gun not quite as risky as some other brands might (assuming they haven't been butchered). Though I like the range officer, I like the loaded much more. Even though you can put a fixed sight on the RO, it still doesn't look quite as nice in my opinion.

I have a lwco that is dead sexy, so I understand. It is as accurate as a RO but the RO is fitted better. Ceracoat vs park and all that. Take a look at the RO thread where the op got his coated and installed sights, it's pretty nice.

I have a parked Loaded and love it. It does have the two piece bbl and it is very accurate. The fit is OK but not great. Mine has been very reliable with every ammo but the 200gr Gold Dots.

After checking out the Range Officer I think I would have bought it if it was out back when I bought my loaded.

The parts aren't ideal, but they're usually never problems either.

MIM is in almost everything, 2 piece barrel is reliable and have been around for 7 or 8 decades in other pistols, and the glued in ejector can't go anywhere if the glue comes loose and will continue to function as normal.

I've bought 2 Loaded's. One new, one used. They were a good "modern" pistol for a beginner as opposed to a GI style 1911. That said, my 1911 tastes have turned away from poor beavertail fit, front cocking serrations, and the junk ambi safety they put in them. My perfect 1911 would be the range officer with Novaks and checkered front strap or the MC Operator with checkered front strap.

If your tastes don't match mine, the Loaded is a good spot for getting your feet wet in the "modern" 1911 game. Back in 2008, I paid $759 for my new one and $600, IIRC, for the used one.

Hope this helps.

I own a loaded and I own a RIA, in all honesty, I prefer the ria. When I bought my loaded I couldn't even complete a stage of a ccw class without getting  out my leather man tool to tighten the two piece flgr. Springfield= non mil spec fireing pin, ILS, 2 piece barrel and more. RIA is closer to JMBs original design.

Not all SA use a 2 piece barrel.
ILS can be removed.
38 Super fp is not a problem and some consider it a benfit.
SA still uses  a forged frame and slide.

My 2 Loaded's have been solid. The Micro did require a trip back to SA to get it functioning properly, a trip paid for (both directions) by them. The lifetime warranty and good Customer Service make for good peace of mind. I'd buy another if I hadn't graduated to higher end 1911s (still do carry both on occasion).

I replaced the two piece guide rod with a GI setup and replaced the ILS mainspring housing.  Never had problems with the factory parts I just prefer the new parts and they were easy to replace.

I've had both OP, the "NM" and the "N". The "NM" prefix serial numbers get more TLC from the factory. They are more refined. My "NM" Loaded came with a target, (1) piece barrel and matching fitted stainless steel bushing, and sub 5lb trigger. It is the best 1911 I've ever owned; I cannot get it to choke and it's extremely accurate. Especially when shooting 255 grain hard cast bullets; its a laser. The "glued" ejector is never a problem and will never cause a malfunction during firing, as the slide keeps it in place in the very unlikely event the ejector were to come loose. The "N" prefix Mil-Spec I owned has ran thousands of rounds without a problem. The fit an finish were good, just not as good as the "NM" series. I looked for months before I found an "NM" Loaded, 6 months to be exact in 2010 when they were in short supply around me. If I had to sell all my pistols, I couldn't part with the "NM" Loaded OP. HTH...

My only beef with the RO is that ugly ass'd adjustable rear site. To replace it with a fixed on makes it look almost as goofy as when it comes stock. Forget carrying it. I can see myself with a chunk of skin missing from my side and/or a hole in my shirt, . If it's just for practice and for the range, it's perfect.... I love the Loaded and the combat Novak's...
