Ok, so i have an offer for one of these beauties for what seems like a good price (brand new, under $1000). My question is this; i have not owned a 1911 before, i've always had Glocks and Sigs. Is this a good deal? How are these as far as reliability, accuracy (i know this is more me than anything), etc? If you need reference, it's this exact gun:

Thanks!

I have a Springfield 1911 5" loaded model.
It was my CCW for almost 6 years.

We have shot thousand of rounds though it,
The only problem we had was with the first 50 or so rounds, every once in a while one would stove pipe.

I also replaced the extractor with a Ed brown because it lost its tension.   After that it was  great , no other problem that I can think of.

I don't know about the Armory Kote???
Mine is parkerized.  Which I re did once because of holster wear.

But with in a year or so the edges started to show hostler wear again. I am sure the Amory Kote  would hold up better.

I started carrying a Glock 19 every day, only because it's weight is notably less.  As far  accuracy - out to 10-15 ydrs I don't shoot one any better then th other.  At longer distances I find the 1911 much easier to shoot well.

I did almost sell my 1911 for a Glock 21, But my wife stopped me because the 1911 is her favorite pistol we own.   I am really glad she did that -  It fact I had it out at the range  yesterday and i was thinking how glad I was I didn't sell it.

Also that seems like a good price to me.    We paid around $700 for are less expensive model almost 6 years ago.

I would have to buy it if I had the extra cash

For that price i will take 5.  I bought mine over the summer and love it so much.  It is an amazing pistol.  For that price i would actually check to see if it is that exact pistol SA has many versions of TRP, The trp operator, trp MC operator, trp.

Thanks guys, it is indeed that exact model. I think it'll be my first 1911! I'm still going to carry my Glocks, but this seems like a fairly good opportunity at a nice pistol to shoot at the range and perhaps keep in the nightstand safe.
