| Recently purchased one of these and typical Springfield, simply awsome pistol. Does anyone know what brand of magwell/backstrap combination they use on these pistols?? I run Wilson 2 peice backstraps with mag well on my other 1911's and they accomidate the normal taper at the bottom of the grips. But on the TRP it has a broader magwell on the outside perimeter which accomidates a Flat cut bottom grip. I would like to change this to eliminate the ILS but would like to mantain the same factory look with the flat bottom grips. Wilson does not accomidate for this and really want to use the factory grips on the TRP. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated. |

I believe you can retain the factory mainspring housing and just swap to non ILS components. |

I dont want to retain the factory mainspring housing because of the sacraligious lock in it or the hole if I remove it.. Basically I want a flat checkered mainspring housing with a mag well like the stock one which is widwe than the Wilson to re use my factory flat bottom grips. The factory magwell has a screw in the center of the back but is designed with 2 pins, one on either side of the screw hole which is a design I have never seen befor. Maybe made by Springfield them selves, I don't know. Thought someone else might. I simply want the same look, without the ILS and be able to re use my factory grips. |
