I'm in the market for a TRP.

Local store has the TRP and the TRP Operator in stock for $1333 and $1400 respectively. Whichever I get, its gonna be a range toy mostly, however, for the $$$$, I'd also like it to be able to take a beating if need be.

I prefer the serrated rear of the adjustable sight on the TRP Operator, however, I don't like the fact its adjustable. I'm just not sure how well that thing will hold up. The bull barrel is totally new to me, however, I'm sure I could adjust.

The rail is "meh" to me, beings I have an MC Operator I just bought.

For a range toy with "apocalypse" capabilities, which would you go with? Adjustable sight TRP Operator, or fixed sight TRP?

If I already had an MC Operator I'd put the extra money towards debt or retirement.

I prefer fixed sights because usually they are lower profile and, like you statsd, more durable.

Apocalypse capabilities? Get the trp operator. If the rear sight bothers you get the Harrison replacement.

Either one will take a beating. I'd get whichever one needs the least amount of modification for your tastes.

I like your style for handguns.  Seems like you been buying a few handguns lately, you must be doing good in life.

If you don't want the rail, get the TRP.

Get the regular TRP since you have a railed gun already. I love mine and it is very accurate.

Looks good also

Get the Operator and order a set of Fixed sights from Harrison Design or order it from Springfield as a factory option.

Recently I was also looking and trying to decide between those 2. I ended up getting the non railed TRP, stainless. I decided that I really didn't like the bull barrel and prefer a barrel and bushing. I also didn't want target sights and just prefer 1911s without a rail. It really made my decision easy.
If you want to mount a light then you need a rail. If not get the TRP. The railed 1911s just look clunky and there aren't as many choices in holsters for them.

Of the two I'd get the regular TRP. Or just try to get one of those Black operators one of the distributaors had and put the TRP grips and mag guide on it. I don't think the regular operator has the bull barrel and I know if dosen't have the adjustables and those are the things that keep me from wanting the TRP operator.

Love my trp operator sights have taken a good beating and have never given me any issues.  The Bull barrel has proven to be quite a shooter.
