Hi Everyone,

Looking at the purchase of my first gun.  Have been shooting about 3 times now with hand guns.  Rented the .40 Springfield XD handgun and loved it.

I wanted to rent the 9x19 but they didn't have that for rent.

Just wondering if there's anything I should be looking out for when buying this gun and also what do you all think of it.

If it's not too much trouble, what do you guys think is a good price to pay for the gun in CA preferable with Trijicon sights?

TIA

Dustin :)

i had the hs2000 which is the same gun that SA calls the XD now. They were selling NIB here for 275.00 before SA became the sole importer and jacked the price another 200.00.

Decent shooter, comfortable and reliable.

Great deal at 275.00 marginal deal at 500.00. I would prefer it to a glock but in the same price range i prefer the walther p99 series.

Don't listen to the beer slayer, he's from Alabama.

Around $400 - $430 would be a fair price. My XD9 Subcompact is the best shooting pistol that I own. Great guns!

I bough one of the HS2000s when they first hit the shelves and said then that it would soon be a $500.00-600.00 gun and worth every penny at that. Still believe that is true. IMHO, anything under $600.00 is a bargain.

I like mine. Some XD-9s are not reliable with Winchester white box ammo (mine included). Just find a brand that it likes and it will be fine. I also like the fact that you can use XD-40 mags in the XD-9 and have instant hi-caps.

My XD-9 sub is the best 9mm concealment pistol ever. I fired a glock 26 side by side, and I must say, S.A. puts it to shame. The gun is just fantastic, accurate, and extremely concealable. I would have paid $800 for it, the fact that I paid $400 (w/out trijicon) makes me feel like i got rung up wrong at the register.

The XD9 is a wonderful pistol.  I have one and love it.  I've never had any problems with mine, and it shoots better than I can (which, in all honesty, isn't saying much).

Mine was used, however, and came with a spare magazine, laser sight (which I don't have any need for and plan to get rid of) and MMC adjustable sights (which I plan to replace with night sights).

It set me back...just under four hundred dollars, as I recall.

Do you recall where you bought it from? Im trying to save every dollar I can without sacrificing service, gunfinder is instate, so its faster shipping, but I would buy somewhere else if its going to be cheaper.

I've owned my XD-9 Bi-tone for about two months now with only 210 rounds through it.  Alot of people have great things to say about them.  The bruniral finish wear is a small issue but can be taken care of by a baked on coat of Militec or a refinish.  This is not my personal experience, I have a stainless steel version (Bi-tone).  I love my XD-9 and wish they would hurry up and produce a .45 version.  Defintely buy one, whether it be the .40, .357, or the 9mm.  You'll be getting a nice pistol.

Check www.hs2000talk.com

You'd probably get help there faster than this random XD thread. I've never heard of this problem before.

One fact of life is that the quickest way to lower cost is to increase tolerance limits. When I checked the WWB against some higher priced rounds I found a far greater variation round to round in the construction of the cartridge itself.

Personally, I only have had one batch of WWB FTE in my Gen 1 HS2K and it also gave me fits in my SiGs. I just stopped using WWB in either and problem went away.
