Needing a smaller package than my Glock 19 and Evolution 9 can.

The subcompact Springfield XD pistol will the longer framed pistol fit for threading?  Will the longer 15rnd magazines work in the smaller framed gun?

I’ve been told (not by the company but buy a dealer who has never sold an XD) that all XDs will accept Beretta mags. So in thery you cold plug in a 20 round M9 mag and go to town at the range.  I’ll know for sure when I get one with my tax return, or some on just email Springfield Armory. I bet that would be quicker than the IRS!

I just tried to stick a Beretta 96 mag in my XD-40.

The beretta mag does not have a hole in the right place for it to lock into the mag well.  Did it go in all the way? Yes.  Could it be used? No.

The subcompact is capable of taking the 15 round mags that fit the Service and Tactical size XD's.  You can buy the 15 rounders, and then buy a sleeve.  They will hang out the bottom, but that's where the sleeve is located on the mag then.

Check them out here:

If you cut the hole in the right spot, then they will work, the only issues are cutting the hole correctly for the mag to function, and a slight modification of the follower is needed for the slide not to hang up on it.
and David, the 15 rd mags will work in the Sub-frame, there is a sleeve that is currently available to place on the mag to fill the gap between the frame and mag bottom, making it a full length grip. a better place to get these questions answered is definitely here:  XD Talk Forum

I have a full size. Do they make a sleeve for the standard beretta mags. For the little bit that sticks out? Do you know who makes them?

I have beretta mags that are cut to fit the XD. They all work fine in my Service model. They are a bit longer and don't fit flush with the bottom of the grip. There was a warning, in the XD Talk forum that you could break the ejector if you smacked them in.

you could try this, it might just cover up that little bit on the bottom of the grip, and it's not permanent..

It might cover it up, but won't create a positive stop.
