Took gun to the range today for first time... Out of 50 shots two were misfires or delayed shots .. Is this something i need to worry about? Asked some guys at range about problem they said it just that gun is new and that it needs about 500 rounds before it's broke end..another gun said I should send it back to Springfield .., another guy said that's a problem with the four inch barrel 1911.. Not sure want to do.  Ammo used was federal Champion 230 grain..

Misfires or delayed shots,....sounds like an ammo problem. Was kind of ammo were you using.
Reloads, or factory?

Just needs breaking in.  I have a Champion and it runs 100% reliable now.  When it was new it did have a hiccup or two, but that was it.

It sounds like an ammo problem.

I agree with the ammo problem responses.
I have a new Champion as well. Mine is not feeding the first round off a mag at times.
I will put this down as a break-in thing for now.
It is ridiculously accurate, however.

That sounds like Ammo . I have a champion that I've heavily modified and it runs like a stripped ass ape !

Try a different type/brand of ammo and see if it goes away. If you still have issues with multiple brands of ammo then it might be a gun issue but ammo seems more likely in this case. You can also pull the firing pin to see if the channel is gummed or the pin is bent/damaged/etc.
