Picked up a Springfield compact today. Pics later. NMC prefix on the low 5 digit serial number. When were these made?

Sounds interesting to this guy, love to see that'un.  Give S.A. a call, bout 15 minutes, they should be able to fill you in on all sorts of cool info on that gun, not only when it was made but what configration it left in, sights, finish, etc.... pic's!

I'm envious..Mine was stolen a few months ago and it was the perfect carry gun..SA action, alloy frame with night sights...very light weight, accurate and reliable....Enjoy yours and never leave it unsecured.

I got mine in the early 90s. Ss and NM s/n as well.
It will be the last to go as it is willed to my good buddy "toothless in the desert" from Palm Desert!

PICS!

Weird kind of ,sti adjustable sight on a compact. That and the beaver tail. Thought it was an Ed Brown but comparing to my others I don't think its Ed Brown now.

Called Springfield armory, January 92.

OH-MAN that pistol is awesome!  Enjoy it and listen to them guys about hanging on to it.  Would look like Darth Vader's CC with dawson or 10-8 rear sight pkg.  SWEEEET!

I sent my compact to SA for trigger undercut and it came back with the idiot scratch buffed out(my first 1911)and a flat msh. Of course, the msh had the lawyer lock!
I may switch it back.
