Hi everyone!

I have a chance to trade my milspec for a loaded in SS. The guy says it has a 3.5 pull on the trigger and night sights and this was done by springfield. It has about 100 rounds through it. He says he wants the mil spec plus 300 dollars. Is this a good deal? I really dont want to male a mistake and end up losing. Thanks in advance

In my opinion its not a bad deal if everything is as stated.  A 3.5 lb trigger job done by SA costs about $200––check for yourself on their Custom Shop price sheet on their website. I would make sure that the seller has proof that SA did the work.  I think a new stainless Loaded can be had for about $900––the prices just went up, so you'd have a pistol with the equivalent of about $1100 in it.  Your pistol (the Mil-Spec) might bring $600 from the right buyer––they're pretty hard to find.  So with that $600 plus the $300 cash you'd be investing the equivalent of $900.

Agree with above.  Last I checked I could buy a Mil-Spec pretty easily for $650 and a Loaded for $850, so I don't think it is a particularly good deal unless the changes were on top of the typical Loaded pistol.

Having your Mil-Spec upgraded to a Loaded would cost a lot more than $300, but that's only if you need the upgrades.  Personally, I love the Mil-Spec, and $300 goes a long way toward a good holster, magazines, and a couple choice upgrades.  In the end, it all depends on what you want to end up with.

I just saw your other thread. Since the SS Loaded is what you want, I say go for it.  Though I'd negotiate down to the Mil-Spec + $200 unless he can provide proof of the Custom work.

He got offended when I asked for proof and called the deal off. There was something fishy there... Well I guess Ill keep looking to trade or sell my mil spec

Best thing you could have done. I wouldn't want a "Springfield" trigger job done by some high speed with a Dremel and high hopes.

If you can add a few more bucks to your budget, take a look at this used (99%) Springer SS TRP for $950 shipped in the EE. Appears to be a pretty good deal. Adding to my Harley fund is keeping me from taking a serious look at it.

I have a friend that own's a large firearm's store so get the loaded only with the NM before the seria l# . He spent a couple week's searching for me a Loaded  NM 1911 and it been Flawless. All IMO

There is no comparison between the two the Mil-Spec is a Chevette ( IF YOUR OLD ENOUGH TO REMEMBER IT...LOL ) and the Loaded a CORVETTE. Mine is as dependable & accurate as my SA TRP,  2 Kimber's, Wilson, Nighthawk, Colt....Oh I also have an original Remington Rand but It's the lesser of all.

The Loaded is the best deal on the market for it's price. Personally I would have bought a Loaded for more money than I paid for it. If I knew then what I know now. Purchased mine about 2 yr's ago for $750 NEW OTD. If you search one can still be found for this price or just a little more. My definition of a little more???  $100 and the Loaded is worth every penny of it!!! IMO

Here's mine to show the NM.

Last note I read in a Gun rag Magazine that the stainless get's a little more attention in hand fitting and production because any small flaw's such as tool mark's etc.. can not be hidden like a 1911 with a finish added. To me this theory sound's creditable.....
I would surely take the deal, you'll get the best end of it!!!
