I was ready to buy these http://palmettostatearmory.com/index.php/springfield-armory-10rd-45-acp-magazine-blued-1911-govt-pi4421.html Triping over my self to order them along with some XD sub-compact 13rnders for $10(!) and XD 16rnders $13, but I got to looking because I was wundering what kind of base that was (don't like plastic) so I go to read it more carefully and it says "These mags are made for Springfield Armory by ProMag"

I passed on the 1911 mags, but ordered the XD mags, hope they are not ProMags.

Including the 32 rounders for glocks (~400 rounds through them)

Why are they  garbage?

I'm pretty sure on their 1911's Metalform made their magazines. metalform has been making great 1911 mags for many years.

I think that is palmetto misrepresenting- they might have intended to say made to fit rather than made by &for.
I highly highly doubt SA would ever sink so low to include such trash with what is regarded as one of the most solid 1911 brands.
I believe either metalform or check mate provide the SA mags

I have 4 Springfields the newest being a TRP Operator and NONE of them came with Promags. If they had that would have been the first thing to go in the trash. I have over the years tried several Promags because of price for several different guns and all were a complete failure.

ProMag has a well documented history of putting out a very flawed product. Even if they have rectified their QA/QC  issues, many people wouldn't take their product if it were free.

Often, during the AWB years, ProMags were about the only reasonably priced mags and many of us used them for range beater mags instead of the $60-70-+++ high capacity mags for SIG Sauer, Beretta, and such.

They mostly worked OK.  Mostly.   They were about 80% as reliable as a factory mag if you were lucky.

The old ones were largely a crapshoot - I've had good luck with many of their newer offerings over the past 3-5 years.  Someone must have improved their Quality because it changed big time.  Went from junk to "not junk", but not Mec-Gar either.  Their HK 93 mags work great!

Normal 1911 mags for Springfield are Checkmates and have been for years.  My guess is Checkmate doesn't make ten rounders.

This! My last "NM" serial prefix "Loaded" came with 3 magazines and NONE of them were/are Promags... The SA mags proved more reliable than my 47D's (of which I've had to swap out the tired Wilson springs for Wolff 5% extra power springs; with solid results.) The 47D mag springs went tits up after only 200 rounds. That and simply being loaded to capacity for 5-6 months allowed the springs to compress over an inch short when compared to an unused 47D mags I used for comparison. I don't believe Springfield will ever stoop so low as to contract Profag for magazines...

Hahahaha, your right... I found (2) new Promags, unused, in their original packaging in the trash bin at my club last year... I politely pushed them toward the bottom of the can. And no I'm not just hating. I had horrendous results with Promag "Hi-Power" mags when I was 22 years old, ( too dumb & naive), to know any better than to buy crap like that.
