Mine came in today. Mounted it up on my 43X. It does direct mount. Which is nice. It does leave a gap at the back. For whatever reasons Steiner utilized only the front recoil bosses. Not sure why. I assume to make it more universal fit? See pics below. You get several screw options and a handy chart to show which screws work with what pistols. So that was nice. The options for the Glock were dead on for my 43x. The glass is clear. Very clear. I don't notice any fish eye. It has a slight blue hue. Nothing serious for me anyway. Reticle options are dot and dot. Which is fine by me. It does have auto shut off/shake awake. I have no use for that but there if you do. I disabled and then used the lock feature. Construction seems to be good. No complaints there. Size is not bad. The increased window size is nice. I'll mention that shortly. It's bigger than most K dots for sure but it's not awful. I'll include size compared to a 507k I was using. I shot about 250 rounds including the zero. No issues with zeroing at all. For me, it was almost dead on for a 25 yard zero out of the box. Always nice when that happens. Dot is crisp. Good size. The increased window size let the dot stay in the window during string of rapid fire. Which is always nice. Overall I'm happy. Shot a GPA match with it last night. No complaints. To be fair the entire match was less than 100 rounds. But getting to shoot it more than just statically was nice. Held up fine. No electrical gremlins and the window was nice for match shooting. As mentioned in first post with good recoil control, you don't lose the dot out of the window. I think the window may be bigger in this optic than my Acros. I'll have to compare. It's definitely bigger than other K optics. |

2 month update Put few hundred more rounds since last post. Everything went well until this evening. Dot died during dot torture drill. Finished drill with irons. Pulled battery out and put back in. Came back on. Battery shifted during recoil. Hopefully this doesn't become a common problem. It can happen with Acros also but not common. Steiner did add a small piece of dense foam on the inside to combat this. But not sure if the cap loosened over time? It has several hundred rounds on it since I installed so it's possible. Cap was tightened well and will keep B eye on it. |

I've been looking into getting an MPS-C for a recent XMacro/Ramjet build I purchased. It came with a full-size EPS on it. That's not TOO big a deal since the EPS on my MR920P (my fave EDC) has finally crapped out after 7 yrs & 10k+ rounds, so I plan to put the EPS currently on the Macro on my MR-P. The issue I'm having with going through with the MSP-C is that, in every pic I've seen, it looks SIGNIFICANTLY smaller than even a regular RMSc optic cut. However, when comparing the length of the MPS-C (1.46 in.) with the length of the optic cut on the XMacro (1.73), it really only equates to roughly a quarter inch gap between the optic & the end of the optic cut. I'm not sure if a 1/4 inch gap is gonna bug me, but I KNOW the EPS Core, Romeo X Enclosed Compact, & enclosed Vortex CCW will all fit thr optic cut perfectly. I need to decide if my long-held desire to try out a Steiner optic will override however annoying that gap may be. |
