| Looking at a couple sti's. I'm considering a lawman 5.0 and duty one 5.0. I already have a sig scorpion so another railed 1911 my be redundant. Any opinions? |
| Last week an STI wasn't even on my short list of future 1911's but I shot a buddy's recently acquired Lawman 5.0 and I was impressed. This one has the adjustable rear sight and black serrated front sight which isn't my usual preference. The only other negative is the magwell lacks any beveling. However, I was so amazed at the groupings I was getting with plain old Winchester white box ammo that I was easily able to overlook the shortcomings. With his permission, I added a Wilson shok-buff and it instantly tightened my groups to a level that I seldom achieve with most sub $1500 1911's. So this week...I now own an STI Lawman 5.0 |
| I've had my STI Elektra .45acp for a few years now and I love it more than I ever did. One of the lightest guns I own and so accurate (match grade barrels in all STI's) it almost takes the fun out of hitting the center...almost. I suspect whichever model you pick will be awesome! |
