Does anyone have any experience with these?  What do you think?  Are they the best choice for a laser/light combo for a railed handgun?

I have a TLR-1 and like it, and may buy another, but wondered about adding the laser feature, so get the TLR-2.

I have heard about them on shotguns also.

Thanks.

I bought one on EE, but only because of the price.  I don't use the laser much.  It's kind of a double edged sword.  From a tactical standpoint, it let's the target know you've got them in your sites.  On the downside, It also gives them a pretty good idea of your position.  I'd really rather rely on my light to disorient someone.  From a reliability standpoint, it's been a standout laser/light combo.

I have one on my P220 everyday.  Can't beat it.  If you like the light output on the TLR-1 you will like the TLR-2.  The laser has its uses...but shouldn't replace the sights IMO.

I love my TLR-1. Just ask yourself if double the price is worth the laser for your application and you'll have your answer.

Thanks for these replies.

Is it easy to use just the light, or just the laser, or both?  I have a TLR-1 and know that it is very easy to do momentary on or continuous on for the light...I am not sure how you control both the light and laser separately/independently on the TLR-2?

I got one for my TRP just because it has a rail. I doubt I'll use it much. It's more for show.

The lower back of the unit has a 3-way toggle switch. To the left is "laser only" middle position is "light only", to the right is "Laser/Light " combo.

Thanks a lot.  And can you then use the normal TLR-1 type switch for momentary on or constant on for the setting (laser, light, laser/light)?

Yes, that switch operates the same way.
