I was planning on buying my Glock for my birthday in June. I got a GSSF membership in January , now they have changed the pistol purchase program so I have to buy it by May 1st , or wait until next year !!!
F***ERS!!!! Basically you have to be a GSSF member for 2 years in order to buy a pistol under the program starting May 1st (no grandfather it looks like) http://www.gssfonline.com/GSSF_Pistol_Purchase_Program_Information.pdf! |

They're probably going to see their membership #'s drop because of this. Because a lot of people join up simply for the discount, and don't care about whatever other benefits you get with a GSSF membership. |

Everyone just wanted a discount. Think of it,they were selling a gun about $100 under retail for $35. I think a lot of dealers disliked this. |

There is a thread on Glock Talk where a member called and verified that anyone who is a MEMBER prior to May 1st, will be grandfathered. If you sign up after May 1, you have to buy a 2 year membership, or wait a year.
So, you are good to go as long as your a member now. |

Does anyone know if the purchase program discount applies to local dealers(in the buying party's area) only? In other words, could the discount be applied to an internet purchase from another state? It's not a local-only thing, as of now. Not sure if they plan on changing anything about that with this new policy change, though. Lots of people buy through Ed's Public Safety, even if they don't live in Georgia, or wherever Ed's is. |

I have been trying to find a dealer who honors the GSSF discount. So far I have failed to find one in Indiana. The last time I used the certificate and made the purchase through OMB Guns. The whole operation ran more smooth with the certificates. I think it has to be a LE dealer. Try EDS public safety.. |
