Last week I bought my first Glock (17 gen 4) and decided I wanted a light for it. I ordered a Streamlight TLR3 from Midway.

I opened the package and began testing (playing with) it. It worked great, for about 10 minutes. I tried to activate it and the LED glowed faintly. No problem I figured, dead battery. I switched in a brand new battery and put it away. Next day, after I picked up my new Glock (Illinois 72 hr "cooling off) period) I decided to test it on the pistol. Light was dazzling bright when I put it on. I went out and fired 17 rounds, came back in and the light was dead as a hammer.

Anyone else have similar experiences? I'm sending it back to Midway to exchange it. I"m hoping I just got a rare lemon because I really like the light and don't really have the money for a more expensive model.

Can anyone recommend a similarly priced light in case my second one doesn't work.

Thanks.

Try the battery again.  Might be a defective battery.  I have a Viridian C5L and it stopped working one day.  The problem was that the battery went under 3 volts.  Even if there is still a charge in the battery, it will not work unless it has a minimum of 3 volts.  I had moved that battery to another light and it worked, but not on the Viridian.  After putting in a new battery into the Viridian it started to work again.  Maybe it's the same for your light.
