So i've been itching for quite some time to pickup a 1911, and this model from Springfield caught my eye. What are you experiences with them (good or bad)? I'm not looking to skimp, i'm trying to get something of as much reliability and quality from the start, and i've heard a few good things about these. Also, if you dislike them, what others would you recommend? Thanks!

try a search, you will come up w/ a few topics on em...

FWIW: the TRP can be considered one of the best production 1911s for the money (for the features and manf and parts, some of which is 'higher grade' vs the std SA Loaded); if you can get it for ~$1100 or less, i'd say that you will do well

on the other hand, TRPs have seemed to gone up (or at least stayed up) at ~$1300 or so...in which case, some dont think that its worth it and you are better off getting a semi custom from LB or RRA, etc

i've only shot the TRP (i have never owned one, but own a armory coated, SA semi-customed MC Operator), and i think that it was a well made and reliable 1911
