Is it heresy to upgrade the sights and do a trigger job on a 1968 T series? The gun has under 1000 rounds through it, some light finish damage in the form of some small scratches and a small area that had rusted but was carefully buffed so it is just missing a little bluing.

Do it. It will increase the value of all the unmolested T series,

A trigger job won't affect the value as much as messing with the sights. Upgrading the sights on a T series means you'll be replacing the silver soldered front sight.........and you'll need to have a dovetail milled for the new sight. Then you'll need to reblue the cut.

If the finish is really bad, milling the slide for new sights isn't a sin as doing that to a minty fresh T series.
