My new PT1911SSAR. not a bad 1911, functioned great with my reloads and is pretty accuraite. Had to dump the stock grips, cheapest I have ever seen on a 1911. VZ Alein's in dessert black on it now. Fixed the pic's see next post down. |

That looks nice with the VZ's. Any problem with them fitting, or are they Taurus specific? Rassco makes grips for the PT's and I was going to go with them on my 3, but another choice would be good as well. No they were not a direct fit. Had to widen the cutt out notch on the back of the right side ambi grip. A couple seconds with the dreaded dremal did the trick. |

Cool. Very nice. How does it compare with your Kimber?? Of course the Kimber is much more exspensive and it shows in the overall fit and finish of the gun. I wanted a railed 1911, so I could have a light on it for a nite stand gun and did not want to spend $1000 to $1300 so the Taurus was the perfect fit at only $640. The Taurus has so far performed flawlessly and is accurate, not laser beam like the Kimbers but more then good enough for a defensive handgun. I am compairing the accuarcy with my Kimber Tactical Custom another 5" 1911. The one thing that really surprised me about the Taurus was how good the trigger is, it is on par with the Kimber triggers (this perticular PT1911 anyway) |
