| Ok, still shopping. Anyone have opinions on these? |
| I own one. The regular 24/7 (DAO). Its not bad. It goes bang everytime, light, I like the grip, it fits my hand well, decent sights. 17 round 9mm mags are a plus. Extra mags are a bit spendy though. It was very accurate. Using WWB ammo, I outshot my friend and his M9 using the same WWB. Granted, im a better shot then he is, but still, he had a more "quality" weapon. For a bedside gun, load up some hydrashoks, slap a surefire on the rail and put it in your nightstand and dont worry about it. Only gripe is that its a bit of a bitch to put back together |

One of my good buddies has this one Taurus its a nice pistol. A little bulky IMO. I dont think I would buy one mainlt because I dont like the way it looks. Other than cosmetics I would have not problem buying it. Unlike others I thought the grip was nice. If you are going to carry it, it is hard to conceal. Good pistol overall. |

I have a pt145 mil pro in stainless thats shorter than the 24/7 but same workings. The newest generation is SA with a DA second strike. Mine has no mag safety, so just a lawyer lock on the side that you dont have to ever use... Also has a manual slide safety which I prefer for a carry gun. The long trigger travel plus the manual safety makes it a "feel good" carry. Dont let the long trigger pull fool you on them, you dont have to release it very far to reset, just the initial take up on the first squeeze. Choosing a Taurus comes with some risk, they are hit and miss with getting a good one right off, but have a lifetime warranty. The customer service is slow these days according to most, but eventually you will get it fixed if its broken. Im at 100 rounds right now without one single issue and im really starting to like it. I plan to put some more through it tomorrow, and hope to get enough rounds through it to make it my CCW weapon. I love the way it shoots and feels. And for the money, its fun no matter what I use it for. |
| I'm a pretty big fan of taurus. My wife still has one of their tip up 22 tomcat takeoffs.I think really good quality for their price.I've shot a number of their semi autos.I also owned their bobbed or hidden hammer 357/38 revolvers.I forgot that mdl #.As far as the 24/7.I feel theres better choices for a 9.Just my own 2cents.Good luck |
| I just received mine today, a 9mm 24/7 Pro. I love this gun! I put 200 rounds through it w/o any problems and the sights were dead one. At first I thought it would be too much like my Walther P99, but the trigger seemed better, especially the double-action pull. Other models I've fired include the XD, G19, Steyr M9 & S9, Baby Eagle, 92FS, Kahr K9 and P9 and I enjoy the 24/7 the most. It only beat out the Steyr guns in shooting enjoyment b/c their ejected casings kept hitting me in the head and they would inconsistenly not return to battery. |

My mother has the PT111 Pro and has had zero problems with it to date. She's fired a couple thousand rounds at the range with no snags. It was small enough to fit her smaller hands, but had a larger magazine capacity then the Kahr and was $200 less. Out the door I bought her this rig for $350. Taurus has always been regarded as a second tier firearm, but I think their 24/7 and PT PRO handguns are well designed and a good buy when you're on a budget. YMMV |
