I see the 24/7 OSS is being distributed and is avaliable in 45 caliber. For those of you that have shot one how do you like it? Is it reliable and accurate? Has anyone seen it for sale in 9mm? Any first impressions on this weapon would be helpful.

I got one in .45acp about a month ago. So far, about 200 rounds through it.

I like it alot....feels good in hand (one of the best feeling "in hand" I've shot) shoots nice tight groups, and functioned flawlessly right out of the case with WWB 230gr FMJ valuepack ammo.

I feel it is a good value (although some Taurus bashers will disagree) and would not hesitate to recomend this pistol.

Mags, for these are hard to find if you want Taurus branded mags. I called Taurus, and the mags should be getting easier to find this summer. All of the mags they had went with the guns (2). They misjudged the desire, and did not produce enough for those who want a bunch of extras.

Funny considering they OSS uses the same mag as the 24/7 which has been out for a while.

That good to know....I'm just repeating what I was told by the voice on the phone from Taurus.

I had thought about that, and did not think to ask the guy at Taurus when I had him on the phone, and he did not offer up that info.

I will say that the mags from my OSS fits my Mil Pro PT 145, although I have not actually tried shooting the 145 with the OSS mags. I'll try that this weekend.

Let us know how that goes, I got a PT145 also (love this little thing) and an OSS on the way and am curious if that works.

I guess in fairness, demand for the 24/7 hasn't been high but it seems the OSS has a bit of buzz. I can see Taurus being unexpectedly swamped with orders.

I haven't shot one yet but I have one on the way and played with it. The grip is similar to the PT line, which is phenomenal IMO. The best fitting 45, or any automatic for that matter, I've ever held. The SA is heavy, they need to lighten it. The DA is not bad for DA. The ability to decock and engage a safety is what really sells the gun IMO. My latest gen PT145 MilPro is rock solid reliable, I hope the OSS is too.

Yea...I like the 145 also. Believe it or not, I sold my G-30 after I bought (and put a few hundred rounds through) my 145.

The G-30 was and is a good shooter, I just could not get used to that fat grip. The Mil Pro's, and the OSS both feel very good in my hand.

I played with one of these last weekend and agree that the grip feels great.  Very ergonomically shaped!  Too bad Taurus has such a bad reputation in the minds of many, as I think this gun could give the M&P and other similar designs a run for the money.

I did note that the magazine appears very similar to the magazine used in the Para Ordnance P-14.  I tried a P-14 magazine in the OSS and it seemed to seat fine.  If these will, in fact, seat and function properly it'll give owners more options.  Para mags are pretty easy to come by and can be used with Dawson base pads for increased capacity.

Hmmm....  Maybe I'll run back up to the gun store this morning and take a second look.  If they have the tan frame in stock, I just might have to buy it!

I tried a P-14 mag in my OSS today and it was tight going in, and did not seat at all.

I had a 24/7 a couple of years ago.  Does the 24 OSS have a huge take up on the trigger like the old 24/7 did?

Just wanted to note, the OSS that I got feels different than the one I described above. Mine has a SA that is definitely lighter than the DA. I read somewhere else that people seem to be noticing this discrepancy between samples or models(???).

Anyways, my OSS is a jamomatic What a let down. The mags feed like shit so the rounds tend to nose dive. Like 40% of the time. I sent my mags to Taurus, it's been 2 months, and they said they are still waiting for replacements.

Yep, add me to the never again list.

Still like my PT145 though

Mine is still shooting fine, at about 1000 rounds. I picked up some extra mags (Taurus branded and packaged) from Bud's Guns for the OSS and the PT145 as he had them cheaper than anyone, even with the shipping.

They function perfectly.

$350, that would be a 24/7, not an OSS
