My local gun dealer has a Taurus Model 66 that is "pre-owned" but unfired.  It is in absolutely perfect condition, 7-shot .357 magnum 6" blued.  The cylinder hasn't even been spun, finish is perfect.  All paperwork and box included.  What is everyone's impression of this revolver?

I can get a screaming deal on it...$260.00...which seems too good to be true for an unfired .357 magnum.

Thanks!

Not worth it, IMO. Check KY Imports web site, along with CDNN for used S&W deals. The difference between a S&W & Taurus is still noticeable, IMO.

Dealer price on that gun is $283.50 add $25 shipping, and $25 transfer fee, and you would be saving about $73.50 over ordering a new gun.  I think that is pretty fair.

I am with BobCole on this one. I have worked on both Taurus and S&W revolvers. I really don't want to work on any more Taurus products. I will always work on S&W products. The difference IS VERY noticeable. Buy a S&W. Charles the Gunsmith.
