| Is it out in the stainless version yet? Anyone have one? How does it run? |
| Bought the stainless one when it first came out, because I was impressed with all the features for the price and the quality looked good, at least as far as I could go at the store. Took it home and put it through the "manual of arms" for 1911s. Long story short, after cocking weapon, engaged thumb safety, gripped weapon properly, pulled trigger and safety system worked so far. BUT, when I released the trigger and then disengaged the thumb safety, the hammer fell to half-cock! This happened every time I tried it, and I agonized over whether I should return it to the store for a refund or send a brand-new handgun I had not even fired to Taurus for repair! Reason won out in the end, and I returned it, got my money back and bought an almost new SIG P220C, and I have never looked back! Would I buy another Taurus 1911? Maybe, but this is not the only Taurus I have had problems with. CAVEAT EMPTOR. If you can ante up another couple C spots, a Kimber or Springfield Armory 1911 would be a definite step up! God bless all! |
Didn't you check this at the shop before you bought? FWIW, my PT1911 has been flawless. |
| The store where I made my purchase won't allow dry-firing new guns. Maybe your local store is different, but not this one! They're good folks, though, and keep a reasonable inventory of some of the latest "wunderkind" in the cabinets. To each their own. Thanks for the comeback. God bless all! |
