Well, I have made the decision NOT to get the new Ruger hunter in 17HMR. The price is way too high and ya cant hardly find one. And I can't find anyone who does have one to get an opinion as to whether or not they are worth the cash.
So, I am looking towards the Taurus Tracker in 17HMR with an 8" barrel. The only problem I have with the Tracker  is the twist ratio, it is 1:10 where as the Ruger in 1:7.
Does anyone here have one of these? Or just an observation as to whether or not that little of a difference in measurement will cause drastic affects on accuracy? I want to be able to use the Hornady 20gr. XTP's for coyote fun out to about 150yrds. I understand that the 17HMR is extremely dependable at that range, but I also know that the tighter the twist ratio the better the accuracy with heavier bullet wieghts in that particular caliber.
I also know that the other advantages to the Tracker is a 7 rnd cyliner, and double action. And the price is under $300!he
Well, any advice, experience, or opinions will be appretiated! Thanks.
