What is everybody's experience with Taurus handguns??  Are they good quality, etc.  Right now I am looking at their 9mm PT92.

But overall how are all of their handguns?

Thanks

PT 92/99 IS AN EXCELLENT GUN.Ive had 3 different models to shootowned by wifes and freinds.as good as the beretta without a doubt.the frame mounted safty is the only difference between them.of course the beretta has a slide mounted decocer/safty.
Iown a 6 1/2 incg blue RB in 454 casull.im here to say its a very strong gun.there is a latch in front and behind the cylinder to keep it in place.the blue is beautiful as any ive seen in modern times.

Thanks guys.  For the money they seem like great guns.  Just looking for some first hand experience.

I had a PT 92 that was a fine shooter and very reliable.  They also offer lifetime warranties in case you've gotten the occasional lemon.

I recently purchased a blued model 605. It appears to be a very well made pistol for the money. I dont think you can go wrong with a Taurus.

I have several and have been happy with all of them. I would still be carrying a PT945 except it didn't fit me too well. Hammer bite was a bitch but other wise a fine gun. I have a PT99 and a model 85 sub that have been outstanding. I have had warranty work done on a model 96 revolver that I bought used and a PT22 that I split the slide on using hyper velocity ammo. Both were repaired in short order and work fine today.  Ask around over here for some more opinions. www.unitedforums.com/cgi-bin/tfcgi/Ultimate.cgi?action=intro

The only trouble I've heard of seem to be with their plastic framed guns. YMMV
