Hello all,
I am long-time lurker, first-time poster. Thanks for all the valuable information that I have found here. Question: I have the opportunity to pick up a used Taurus pt100 for less than $200. I am interested in the Beretta 92 platform but am not sure how I feel about 40 S&W as I have mostly shot and enjoyed 9mm. The higher price of that ammo is also a factor. I have read good things about this gun and it almost seems like too good of a bargain to say "no" to. I have a Glock 17 Gen 3 and would really like to pick up either a Gen 3 19 or some Sig model but am not sure if postponing those purchases is worth the pt100. Thoughts? Does anyone have any experience or suggestions? How is 40 S&W, specifically in that platform? Thanks a lot! |

Taurus, pass.....Save your $$ for something reliable and something that will hold it's value.
If you want a Beretta, why buy a cheap copy? You won't have the same experience with the Taurus. I have a 96C in .40, not my favorite but a nice gun no less. http://s882.photobucket.com/user/jscheel1/media/DSC00473_zpsd1eedc8f.jpg.html?sort=3&o=12 |

I had one for a while, but sold it for a cz75. It is the one gun of theirs that I like, not to mention it has a manual safety on the frame which a lot of people like. But, if you are willing to spend about 100 or so more, you can get a used beretta right now (9mm version anyways.) http://www.jgsales.com/beretta-92fs-semi-auto-pistol,-9mm,-4.9-barrel,-black-finish,-g-vg,-used.-p-6973.html |
