Stay clear. The mods intentionally hide information from people regarding poorly operating firearms inorder to make taurus as a whole look better.

I like Taurus firearms and have only had an issue with one of them. When stating this issue they moved the thread to a forum taht can only be seen by members called the "complaints section" none of my posts contained anything remotely close to a "complaint" I was simply documenting my issues.

So in short if you say anything that they can construe as even slightly negative they will hide it in the "complaints section" even if its simply documenting the issue.

Who would want to be on a Taurus board to begin with?

Especially if they try to bury the truth.

I have come to that onclusion today as this happened. up until this point they let the thread stay where it was, when I mentioned i was sending it in for the third time just as a fact not as a bash or complaint. is when they decided it was a complaint.

If thats how they run that site I want no part of it.

They have since banned my IP address so I can no longer even see the website

But they are not hiding anything

I wont dare post there. I have too many negative stories to tell about Taurus that I have seen as professional firearms instructor during the past 16+ years.

They would not appreciate the truth I would bring.

I agree which is why I will send it back until it is fixed or replaced. If they wind up replacing it I will sell that and probably pick up a hi cap 1911 instead.

I too have had issues with TaurusArmed but I can't agree with EBK.  If you own a Taurus you may well find useful information on TaurusArmed that you won't find elsewhere.  Having said that, the site is poorly organized and the search function doesn't work well, at least for me, so Google is probably better for finding information on specific issues.

Very recently, the "Complaints" section was renamed "Taurus Product Problems and I can see those posts without being logged on to the site, so I assume anyone (except maybe EBK) can see them.

Personally, I have had issues with the site (which were probably as much my fault as the moderators) and I asked to be removed from membership.  The site has some good information but it also has a great deal of fluff ("Hey, I just bought a new Taurus PTxxx" followed with MANY "welcomes and congratulations" from various states).  Posts on all PT700 series guns are lumped in the same section even though the TCP is a completely different design than the 709/740 series.  All problems (and solutions) for all models and all vintages get moved (by the moderators) to the "problem" forum which makes it hard to find information on a specific gun.  This problems section used to be called "Complaints" and it looks like the moderators previously used it as a dumping area for chronic bitching.  It does seem that the moderators are now using it to address actual problems and the top sticky was re-written to that effect.  A step in the right direction but the site is still more of a fan club than a serious gun site.  Just my opinion.

Prior to 6/24/12 that forum was called "Complaints" and was only visible to logged-in members.  Personally, I applaud the revised focus and accessibility of the new Taurus Product Problems forum.

The whole site is kinda like a hometown forum here. Oh...someone who is kinda like me.

Other than a few well documented problems with the older metal framed gun "most" of the complaints are with their plastic guns and general 1911 complaints.

It's like GD here....some good info you just have to sift through a bunch of crap to find it.

I'm a member of a bunch of different gun, truck, and horse forums.  I own taurus, smith, marlin, and rossi firearms.   I like my taurus 445 and 617's just as we'll as my smiths.  I pull the trigger and they go boom without fails    As far as the forum,  I actually prefer it to most others.  I've gotten tons of good info and discussions on them.  Just my humble opinion but of course, ops are like buttholes,  everyone has one and they all stink
