Wearing my 31st MEU shirt today They are still at all the Recon Battalions and get used heavily - getting replaced before the end of this year though by the M18. Gonna miss the M45A1. I know it had some issues initially but I really like shooting it, and havent had any of the problems associated with it. |

The Schwartz parts are foreign to me and I can’t speak on removing them or how they function because I haven’t messed with it. From what I understand the USMC were delivered the Classic Custom style (70series) Guns they didn’t have the Schwartz parts and weren’t designed for the Schwartz parts. USMC was delivered basically mine and 5pt56 gun without the ejection port side markings. The Schwartz are different from the colt style 80series Looks like they can be removed without issue.  However my brother I know you’ve had a long journey with this clone and I want it to workout for you and you love it as much as we do. So to that I highly recommend you get the Classic Custom model as a base gun. They “usually” are a tad more expensive than custom II but it’s worth it. Me and 5pt56 stole ours off Gunbroker. @Pleaforwar |

Finally got to put some rounds down range with my build. Only 50 rounds (thanks 2020) but everything worked as expected. We were stuck on a 100yd steel plate range so no paper targets to show, but I was able to hit steel at distance. Attached File Attached File Attached File |

Also, about to order some parts from kc custom to do a couple of retro builds using some springfield milspecs as base guns. ive shopped around for some folks to do the work and am currently in VA, has anyone used sams custom gunworks recently? Or have any recommendations on who to use? Thanks as always. Been out of the meusoc game a while and now jumping back in ;) |

| Dumb question, do y’all just cannibalize a loaded model to source a slide or just hunt them down one by one? I’ve bought GI and Mil-Spec slides before but haven’t seen loaded slides that often, but I may not have searched long enough. Love all these variant 4s. |

Loaded slide by itself rarely appeared in auction sites for sale. But luckily, the complete loaded pistol is not to0 expensive to acquire and probably can be had even cheaper in used condition. The frame is great for custom project too. Another trivial thing to consider: If you want more true-to-spec appearance, make sure you use older Loaded slide with "MODEL 1911-A1 CAL.45" marking. The current production loaded has simplified slide marking "Loaded" that was never used by Marines.   |

A friend also found one but it was stainless (his gun is all stainless so no real issue there). Haven’t seen very many at all. |
