I was logging in some guns at the LGS I work at. When to my surprise I opened a G17 Gen4 box to find the new beavertail back straps. I picked up a G21 Gen4 not to long ago and I was kinda bummed I didn't get a beaver tail with mine. But I was impressed at how good it felt in hand, now I just need to find one for the G21 and try shooting with it.

My most recent gun left the factory at the end of February...  from what I understand, they started shipping them out soon after that.

All my Gen 4's have the beavertails with them...

Didn't think they were that rare...

They have all been acquired in the last 2 months or so though...

This I like. Any idea if the G21's are shipping with them?

I've got a couple OD 17s with beavertails and their serials start with a V.

So maybe some of the U serials did also.  Not sure.

For some of us, function matters more than form.  I don't have the factory beavertail back strap on mine, but I do have guns with Grip Force Adapters as well as one with a beavertail molded onto the frame.  I don't come home from the range with skin missing off of my hand anymore.

This is really old news here. I have them on all of my Gen4s. They are OK. I don't need them, but function and looks are allright. <meh>

Someone posted in another thread that you can call Glock and order them.  I think it was something like $20-30 for the set.

Perfect solution to a nonexistent problem imo. Just have never seen widespread slide bite from glocks. But if it makes you happy, go for it.

Picked up a Gen. 4 G26 last week.
Was surprised to see the beavertails in there.
I agree they are ugly, but if a beavertail was the only way I could shoot a Glock without bleeding, I'd either use them or not shoot Glocks.
