I read through the 8 pages that is tacked to the top and I have been asking around at my local gun shops.  What a lot of the guys at the guns shop have said that the P22 only works good if you use high velocity rounds like CCI.  They said that I would need the high velocity rounds so the slide will work like it should.  Have any of you guys experienced this?  Anyone shoot CCI and walmart federal value pack back to back?  I'm looking for something to shoot all of my federal 550 value packs and Winchester Xpert .22lr that I have sitting here.  One local shop has a new one for $295 that is about the best I have seen for local prices.

Bought one for the wife last year and have run regular remington 22's no problem.
It is very fun and accurate. Belive it or not even the dreaded thunder bolts ran fine.I quite using them in any autos.

I shot the Remington bulk pack the real cheap stuff and the ammo was 6 years old. I am sure the P22 will like the good stuff alot better but, I had no problems with the cheap ammo.

Mine runs great on Federal value pack.  As in, makes it completely through a 550 rd box with no malfunctions.  Its pretty much all I shoot through it.

Ha....mine has run fine with every round I've put through it.  CCI Subsonics, mini mags, Winchester Xpert, Remington....everything.  I came across a stunning deal on the Winchesters so I'll be shooting those for the next year or so.....11,000 rounds (I cleared the store out hrough
It seems like it is a hit or miss situation....I've heard horror stories from others about their Walther. I consider myself lucky.

Now, if someone would just give me a great answer to my other threads and help me find a HUGE mag so I don't have to constantly reload my 12 standard mags.

One more thing, if you end up getting one, spring for the Viridian laser.  It's expensive, in relation to everything else for the gun, but it's worth it! Try one out at the local gun shop if you're a skeptic.  I can rapid fire 6in groups at 10 yards with that beautiful green beam.

I have one of the originals that came with the 3.5 barrel and two mags.  I have put around 30K rounds through it with very very minimal problems.  I love the thing.  I hates hollow points, I found Remmington Thunder Bolts to be the best and they are pretty cheap.  I rarely have any feeding issues.  Only when I have a dud round which happens everyonce and a while with 22 ammo.

Great gun I dont know what so many people on here have problems with them.  I know of several other people who have them and shoot Rem Thunderbolt through them with no problems.

Also I have heard of the slide fracture problems.  I am seeing many of these happen when people are using the 5in barrel, which I also have an use alot (purchased for $60).  It seems people are having issues because they are not installing the shroud properlly.  If you put the shroud on too far the slide will slam against it during cycle.  Do not allow yours to do this.

ag04blast , you said you shoot Thunderbolts in your P22, how many rounds do you shoot between cleaning?  How is accuracy compared to other brands?

I ask because I bought several bricks of Thunderbolts but my P22 does not shoot them well.

Mine would never take Federal Thunder reliably.
CCI and Winchester work's just fine.
I've only tried these three brands though. It could have just been break-in issues with the Federal, as I haven't shot it since then.
