Is it still necessary to go through a Gun dealer to send just the frame of a Thompson center pistol in for repair?
Can anyone give me  any information on this.   My friend has a TC pistol that has a messed up saftey on the Hammer.  He would like to get it fixed but the main thing stopping him is the Hassle that he feels he will have to go through to get the gun repaired.  So im asking the Hive..whats the best course of action ?

In Arizona you can ship  your gun to the manufacture without needing an ffl though you have to us ups or fed ex cuz here most ppl that work at the usps dont know the law. Have you friend contact the manufacture.

You do not need to go through an FFL to send a firearm to another FFL.  The manufacturer IS an FFL.

Is it a rifle or pistol?  A rifle receiver you can send via USPS, a handgun receiver you have to send via common carrier.

Edit (sorry, saw that it's a pistol).  UPS and FedEx both require that you send a pistol overnight.  This is NOT the law, it is their internal policy.  As such, it may be cheaper to have an FFL ship it, since this policy does not apply to their business customers.
