Hey all, just checking to see if anyone else has had problems with a thread adaptor coming loose. I put a few hundred rounds thru the p22 yesterday, shot flawlessly BTW, but when i was done i noticed that my thread adaptor had come loose and worn the finish off on the bottom part of the hole on the slide for the barrel. As i retightened it, it actually tightened up farther than it did before. I was just wondering if this was normal? It tightened up farther than it did the last time and i put some locktite on it just incase. I didnt over tighten it, but i made sure it wouldnt come off the next time. I would hate to ruin a suppressor because of the adaptor coming loose. Shawn |
Im just glad i didnt have my aac pilot on it when it happened Something told me to get the p22 first and break it in insteads of waiting until my form 4 came back and shooting with the suppressor. I almost dont even trust my adaptor that i have now.

If you are shooting a can on it you should be checking to make sure the can hasn't come loose every couple mags anyways. You would then notice the adapter loose and therefore tighten it. Mine comes loose ALL the time, just tighten it by hand every other mag, its a smart thing to do if for anything to ensure that the can isn't off centered. Can are a PITA to replace due to your own negligence. You can try putting some blue Loctite on it but as the barrel gets hot it will just loosen the Loctite right up.(I've tried that before and it still comes loose after a few mags.) -TS |
