Who makes threaded barrels for teh XD line? Specificly the XD9.

efk fire dragon and barsto both make longer barrels and will thread for special orders

I have the tactical 9mm. I thought of getting the service model slide assembly and just using the 5" barrel. But I can't seem to find a slide. Sringfield won't sell them and none of the parts dealers seem to have them.

If I get an XD, it will be a 5" Tactical. Right now I am leaning towards a Glock 34. The reason is that I am probably going to be purchasing an Oly AR lower that fits Glock the Glock 9mm mags. It would be nice to have a pistol that accepted the same mags. If I don't go for the 9mm XD now, I'm sure I'll pick up a XD in .40SW down the road. It is my prefered round, but am looking to get a 9mm setup with a can for both carbine and pistol.
