I am looking to replace my stock P229 scorpion barrel with a threaded one. I am confused with determining if it is a E2 variant or not. Top Gun Supply calls out two different barrels for this particular Sig. Does anyone have any advice.

Do what I did, call Sig USA and ask them. I got a threaded barrel for my SP2022 that way. It wasn't cheap, but they had it in my hands in less than a week. You may want to pony up the extra $19 for the thread protector as metric LH TP's can be tough to find.

You could also consider getting your bbl extended and threaded depending on the replacement cost. I've had great work done at ADCO and L&M precision.
