My brother and I each purchased a 40cal XDm after seeing all of the press. We both are use to Sigs and HKs mostly and he shoots multiple Glocks as well. He lives in Phoenix and I live in Lenexa (Kansas City) and we both went to the range Sunday him in Phoenix and me in Lenexa and shot multiple weapons. We discovered that with the XDm we both shoot to the left, tight groups but to the left. Is it the trigger, sights, what? Any help would be appreciated.

I don't know much about the XDm, but with the regular XDs it's very common for new owners to shoot low and left.  It's not the gun –– it's the shooter, getting used to the XD trigger.

I suspect that the XDm is similar.

Probably trigger. Do some dry fire, it'll show the trigger breaking and the front sight dipping to the left.

You may be getting too much finger wrapped around the trigger, center the finger pad on the trigger and see if that helps.

Try shooting off a bench.  I bought the xd-9 and had the same problem.  If you look where your sights are their should be a indent line on each side of your front and rear sight down inside the dove tail.  Mine was a little to the left and i moved it back to center and now it shoots fine.

A buddy of mine was having the same problem w/ his xd40 sc the first time at the range. I just figured it was operator error so I gave it a try and had the exact same results. Turns out the front sight was out of line from the factory.
