I haven’t owned an XD in years. My first one was an HS2000. Should never have let it go.

Next was a XDs45.

Tomorrow I pick up an XD I have wanted for a while but unable to find. XD357 tactical

Thanks to an arfcommer who pointed me to a dealer who had a perfect condition used one I finally get to pick it up tomorrow.

Celebrating.

It will be with my other 357 Sig guns. This is the last brand I don’t have. Covered the USP, Glock, and a handful of different sigs. Only thing left is to find a beretta 96 barrel in 357.

Hope it works out for you.

My XDS9 earned the badge of being traded in. The only other gun I've had that was that bad was a Taurus 111.

Like my (pre ZONE) XDM, but that's probably the last/only modern Springfield handgun I'll ever own.

One thing they did right with those is supporting all the esoteric calibers.  You could get .357 sig, 45 GAP, and 10mm XDs no problem.

Good for you op. I have always enjoyed shooting the xd. They always get sold are traded and I always find another lol.

I’ll be likely looking for a 9mm tactical soon as well. If I remember correctly the beretta mags can be modified via a small the squared out to work in an XD. I have a stack of the beretta 30’s for fun and some 20’s as well. Being behind the lines in the Peoples Demokratic Republik of Wa$hington has made me rethink purchases for cross compatibility.

I have no doubts you will enjoy shooting it. I had the chance over ten years ago to grab a used one as well but didn't pull the trigger. Should have as the round intrigued me, however wasn't in the mood to deal reloading it.

All my XD and XDm's have been flawless in both 9 & 45.

No complaints. I got a bunch of mags before our mag ban went into effect. They were on sale for $4 ea (90%) off as the shop was closing.

The XD's are great guns. Have the Tactical 5 inch barrel/9mm MOD.2. Thing is a beast!

I’m tempted to get another one in 9mm. It just points good and feels good in the hand.

I had a couple of different XDs over the years starting with when they first had "SA" on them instead of "HS". For whatever reason I never warmed up to them.  There was something "off" about the recoil impulse. I never felt I had the same control with a XD compared to a M&P, P2000, Glock 9/40.  Some people swore by them, but then like all things in the gun world "hot was not".  I do remember issues with the grip safety being discussed but I never had that problem.

I remember buying my first Springfield Armory firearm in 1994. It was a dealer new M1A.  That thing gave me nothing but problems.    I've owned plenty of their 1911s, M1As (every model), etc.  No thanks.  All of the imported SA, Inc. I have owned (including FALs, HK91s, etc) have been nothing short of stellar.  SA, Inc's CS was "the gold standard" in the 1990s. I suspect it was because they had lots of practice, haha.

If SA actually makes it I have ZERO interest in owning it.

If SA imports it ... they're usually very good.

I've been carrying a Hellcat OSP for quite a while.  Lots of rounds through several of them, and 100% GTG in every regard.  I like them enough that my Hellcat PRO Threaded is getting delivered to my FFL today.

Enjoy your XD and check out the Hellcat PRO next time your in your LGS.  It'll probably follow you home.

Yeah. I won’t ever have a hellcat pro. Why buy a gun that I can only get 10 round mags for. I already had a stash of the XD 357 mags because of a great deal years ago. Unfortunately since Wa is a ban state I don’t see a reason to have one.

Well. I ordered the 5" in 9mm.

A few years ago there was a local gun shop /range that was closing the shop and decided to sell off nearly everything at fire sale prices.

I spent a few hundred dollars and left feeling like a bandit. 90% off was almost too good to be true.

That’s how I ended up with XD357 mags, as well as XD9, and Sig P290RS, and a few other oddball mags. Some of the oddballs were resold and they paid for the ones I kept. It was funny buying P90 5.7 mags for $4.50 ea, (got the only two they had) as well as the XD mags at $3 or 3.50 ea. I found the 357 mags and then found the 9mm mags. Totally forgot about some of them. Time to sell and downsize the extras. Especially the damn SigP290RS mags. So in a week or so I go pick up a XD9Tactical.

Damn I kinda feel dirty.

XDs are great IMO. Carried a XD9SC for a while then switched to Hellcat. Bad move. Should have kept the XD. Moved to S&W Shield Plus for EDC and happy with that, but picked up another XD9SC because cheap.

Now I'm thinking about milling it for a dot & adding suppressor height sights

I don’t get the distain for the XD. It’s a great gun. Very simple in its construction. Very reliable as well.

I picked up my 9mm XD tactical a few days ago. Shooting it this weekend. Its already loaded up with retarded hot load 9mm. We shall see how she does.

Ignore the drone about the XD platform and just enjoy the reliability of them and shoot. A typical ranch day for me is minimum of 250 up to 500 rounds a visit. I've got 2 full size XDm's in 9 with one around the 20k mark and another between 12-15k, my XDSC not as much around 5-7k. Had a XD 45 Service model that I sold to a family member with 5-7K through it. No issues with any of them. Now I just have the XDmC in 45.  All of them have some levels of PRP goodness in them including being milled for optics.

Yes beretta mags can be modded.
I bought some direct from SA during the federal AWB.
They are a touch longer than XD mags. So they stick out a little.
Also keep in mind XD40 and XD357 mags work with 9mm. You may have to squeeze the feed lips a little. By hand, not in a vise. A 10 rd 40/357 mag holds 15 rounds of 9mm.

Great shooting guns.

My local ffl had the threaded 9s for $400 out the door.

Its been fun.

It's weird that there's no PCC that takes XD mags other than the Mech Tech.  Same problem w/ S&W's Sigma/SD/SDVE/SDEVDSBDSM Gen 1 & 2.

After getting 500 or so rounds down range I’ve been carrying the XD9 T regularly. With the mag extension.

I have never had an issue carrying a full-size gun.

Which reminds me, I have two new 15rd Hellcat Pro I need to relist in the EE.

I've always liked the XD. The grip safety is a plus to me, the trigger is pretty good, and I like grip angle.

Springfield added an HS Produkt section to their website and it's worth the five minute look-- HS Produkt's 100% in house impresses me even more.

Enjoy your XD tacticals!
